This is a story about Johnny, a weird guy from Spain.
He was born in 1948 and had a smart brain.
He used to go to school in a very small town
And his skin and hair color where almost dark brown.
His very big interest in astronomy and space
Led him to a problem he had to face.
He always had the best scores at his school
But nobody even thought he was cool.
He had never had a girl, even a pack of friends
About ‘on time’ music he knew five disco bands.
What more should I tell you about this guy?
That wanted to be the first man to fly high…
Fly to the moon as he signed up for it
Be the first man in space eager to explore it.
No-one had ever done it before,
In his life, he wanted to do something more.
Half a million people came to see the rocket engines boost
The Apollo 11 crew fired the 200,000-pound-thrust.
Johnny was scared, would he survive?
Although he had nothing to lose, he cared about his life.

On the space rocket was a four person crew.
On 16th of July, 1969, to the moon they flew.
It took them 4 full days to step on the planet
That is known for having on its surface a lot of craters.
On their way he and the astronauts monitored systems, ate and slept.
He learned and repeated what they did but there was one thing he could not accept.
They did not want to let him get out of rocket and step on the moon
Every angry moment he listened to a ‘disco boys’ tune.
The third day brought a huge fight between Neil and him
While Johnny’s friend trying not to lose muscle was in the gym
Our hero said: “I will step on the planet tomorrow.
Otherwise I will never stop my sorrow”.
He said he would regret it till the end of his life
Then he stood up and took out a knife.
He started to act crazy, but he wasn’t really serious
He sabotaged Neil while acting delirious.
Neil not knowing what to do agreed to Johnny’s request
He believed that it would be for everybody’s best.
This is how the third day of an historical journey ended
After all exciting moments that were never intended.
The fourth morning on the space ship began nervous and tense
Everybody was silent, they knew that conflict made no sense.
You could cut the atmosphere with a knife,
Today’s mission was the most important of their lives.
Johnny eventually told apologized for what he did,
“It was irresponsible and childish, I have to admit”.
They all forgave him and finished their breakfast,
What they needed and wanted to do was vast.
To remind you my reader, it is a story about the first moon landing,
Human knowledge on that day was supposed to be expanding.
Three astronauts and our hero Jonny put on the special space clothes,
on life risk nobody wanted to be exposed.
One of the crew members had to stay inside,
important information and support he was to provide.
The rest prepared to leave the ship.
Their lives were about to flip,
because of this amazing trip.
He gave himself a last nip
and finally touched the grip.
They left the rocket and started to ‘fly’ into space.
The moon that was closer than ever they chased.
After a few moments they landed on the planet ground,
What they heard was the most amazing space sound.
They stayed for about 20 hours, most of the time exploring,
They knew that this would never become boring.
However they had too little fuel to stay there longer,
and they needed to go back to Earth, the command was stronger.
They came back to the space ship and arrived safe and proud,
There where billions of people watching them, quite a huge crowd.
They were clapping, waving and screaming.
When the spacemen saw that they thought they were dreaming.
From this story, that is a little bit unbelievable,
You can learn that anything is achievable.
An ordinary, simple guy from Spain,
that often was not even sane,
Breaking all the rules of his fear,
Thinking only about ‘now and here’,
Ignoring all the warnings he had to hear,
Flew to the moon, eclipsing all frontiers.
