Lion

What I see is a light brown lion on a table
This colour remind me of a maple
It looks at me with its little sad eyes
It lies in its belly maybe he even cries

But wait? How? Toys can not cry!
It’s only a small, plush lion! Oh my!
His sweet, small, open widly eyes
Don’t make him angry! Take my adivse!

Dangerous, white mouth, tiny pinky nose
Four strong legs and long chocholate mane
But he is still very sad, look his pose..
You should hug him and make him brave!

But I am still wondering, why is he here?
Why wouldn’t he just run away, dissepear?
Everybody are whatching him, all day long today
So i wrote a poem about this cute little lion with a color skin hay.

Now this will be the last of my strophes about this lion
that was lying on a table all alone one day
I really wanna make him happier that he is right now
So we can all enjoy this sunny day. But how?

A quick description of deodorant.

What I see is a deodorant made by Axe. Its cover is mostly black and there is a silver part in the front with a title "Axe". It is made from plastic, has an oval shape and stands on its bottom. The cap of this deodorant is transparent but you can still see the white color of it. The whole area is very hard, flat, shinny and relatively small. When you open the dial the substance is blue, wet, smelly and gelly. If you touch it the texture turns out to stay on your hands. As the manual says it is supposed to be applied only to underarms. I am sure this deodorant is surely designed for men since its smell is very intriguing, interesting and it stimulates the senses. Fragrance of this deodorant is very hard to compare to any other realistic counterpart in the world. That is why this product is so unique and desirable.

Annotated Bibliography

1.
Schlosser, Eric. Fast Food Nation. England: Penguin Group, 2007. 1-88. Print.

Eric Schlosser in Fast Food Nation talks about history of McDonald's. He argues that food is one of the  most important aspects to understand people's culture. There is lot information about partnership  between Disney and McDonalds. First 3chapters shows how world has been franchised, shows what's  hidden behind the funny and pretty face of fast food and how McDonald's made itself  so  efficient ,successful.

This source is helpful for me because there is lot information and points of view about McDonald's that  is not on McDonald's webpage.

2.
McDonalds. McDonalds. Web. 27 Nov. 2009. <http://www.mcdonalds.com/

Main website of McDonald , to my surprise is not easy to read, colorful. However as I expected it talks  only about the advantages, how good the food is, how they help environment, children in need and how  it is easy to become an employee.
I think this is very useful source because it shows how Mc Donald's want to be seen in a public eye. There is a lot of information about history and food itself but also lot of stuff like "Amazing stories” or "McDonalds does good".

3.
SuperSize Me. Dir. Morgan Spurlock. Perf. Morgan Spurlock. Samuel Goldwyn Films Roadside  Attractions, 2004. DVD

This documentary disguises mainly one question: Why Americans are so fat. Writer, producer, director  and main actor , Morgan Spurlock wants to prove that the reason is Fast Food. He decided to do that by  eating only McDonald's food , 3times a day for a month. He had to eat everything from the menu at  least once and agree to supersize it if they asked him. Morgan was regularly checking all the changes in  his health and body through this project and unfortunately it turned out that the consequences were  terrifying.
I think this documentary is a great source for my research because it perfectly shows the 'dark side' of McDonalds, the backstage of the all happy commercials and smiles on supplier’s faces. In this source I can perfectly find what other people think about this corporation and what they don't want people to see.

4.
Haddow, Douglas. "Late Capitalism." big ideas of 2010December 2009: Print.

"The big ideas of 2010". This journal is very interesting for me because there is a lot articles connected with advertisements. How the world changed and how we can't live without media's anymore.
The article I choose from this journal was about McDonalds, obviously. It disguises how this company is ready to stock everyone who dares to use the prefix "Mc". Unexpectedly, after eight years in court, ‘McCurry’ won the case and got back all money they lost. Since that the small restaurant on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur exploded with customers from around the world.
This journal article is very useful for me. There isn't only one situation presented but it shows how McDonalds is ready to do everything to stay "unique" - if something like that is possible. They were ready to spend thousands of thousands in court just to not let some small restaurant grow. How scary is that? How unfair that would be if they would win? Maybe in some time people with names beginning with "Mc" will be in threat?

5.
"McDonald's Commercial 1967."http://www.youtube.com. Web. 6 Dec 2007.  <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFEkfipbI3Q&feature=related>.

"McDonald's is our kind of place, it's such a happy place, McDonald's is our kind of place". Catchy melody, moving, convincing lyrics – isn’t it an easy way to win hearts, souls and stomachs of millions of kids?  One minute video - how much information? It's clean, happy, what we can get there good food, quality, extra care service. One minute of video and we really believe that we should take our kids there before they know each other because why wouldn't we? It's our place!
This video is flawless for my research because it perfectly shows how this company has always wanted to be seen. This video almost forces us to see it again and convince ourselves how McDonald's is the happiest place we can go.

6.
"Old McDonalds Advert." www.youtube.com. Web. 7 Dec 2009. <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jwb9W51j7fo>.

In this video we see Ronald McDonald giving free hamburger to a young boy who eats it. But then he is trying to be obedient to his mother and not talk to strangers however when Ronald gives the boy next free burgers he suddenly starts to believe in his truthfulness. He forgets about mom advice to not excepting gifts from strangers and walk away with him to McDonalds.
This video presents the way of McDonald's want to be seen. Ronald McDonalds is presented as a good hero that gives free McDonalds food then kids take it and everybody are happy. However when I finished watching it and thought about it I started to be more and more terrified. I realized that if I were younger I would believe that it isn't wrong to take presents from strangers and go with them to the place they say they want to take us. How many kids are too blind and unconscious to see that it doesn't have to be Ronald McDonald but maybe a kidnapper? I hope the intensions of this advertisement were just to make the company look friendly but it ended up with a terrifying message.

7.
Love, John F. McDonald's behind the arches. United States of America: Bantam Books, 1995. Print.

McDonald's Behind the arches is a book showing aspects of this company that most of the people don't know about. Surprisingly it shows many about advantages. It argues that before McDonalds, hamburger meat was notorious for having the absolute worst quality in the industry, full of such appetizing parts as cow cheeks and tripe, and filled-out with decidedly un-meaty ingredients like water and soy. McDonalds cared about high quality of food and family atmosphere so that everybody would be happy.
This book is useful for me but since it is so long I can't read and use all the information from it. Despite that fact I researched about this book and found out some facts. This source is really important for me because it's all about McDonald's but shown from another side.

8.
Alfred D. CHandler, JR, Bruce Mazlish. Leviathans, Multinational Corporations and the new global history. United States of America: Cambridge university press, 2005. Print.

I find this source helpful but not as much as others. It gives me some information about the company but this book is written more generally and it doesn't contain as much useful information. However I find it useful because it has number of facts from McDonald's history.

Summary of 'Framed for child porn — by a virus'.

The article I have read describes new type of a virus. Collectors of child pornography are storing pornography like that on innocent, unconscious users of computers. Afterwards they use those infected computers to keep and view it what lets them easily surf on WebPages with pornography. Victim of a virus like that find it out what was happening when the police knock to their door. The article describes story about Michael Fioli whose computer was attracted by one of those types of viruses. It completely damaged his life, he lost his job, friend and family. Many threats that he has received caused stress and problems with his health. Hopefully the virus has been detected and Fioli was acquitted. Frequently, there are many viruses made to change the home page to a page with child pornography. This story happened to one man who has been sentenced to more than a week in jail and three months in a halfway house, also he lost custody of his 7 year old daughter. Many prosecutors argues that those viruses are often used to defend real pedophiles in court. Experts demonstrate that it is still hard to run away from the penalty because even careful child porn collectors tend to leave incriminating e-mails, DVDs or other clues. This article shows also the story about Ned Solon. His computer had child pornography, most probably downloaded by the virus because it turned out that his antivirus program wasn’t working properly which means five banned films were downloaded. This way of Solon’s defend wasn’t enough for investigators and forensic experts who argued that with his computer everything was ok and he is a pedophile. Specific expertise that could make this case more clear are very expensive. Even if court is able to pay for it , judges are not likely to do that. After  this very hard process Solon has been sentenced for 6years in jail.
This article should be a warning for all people to be aware of viruses waiting for as everywhere on internet and show us the progress in cybercrimanility. We should care about quality of our antivirus programs because in another way our life can escalate into one of those stories.

" One size fits all phone chargers on the way " - summary

It has always been a problem if you forgotten your charger from home. But now companies in U.S came up with the idea of one universal plug. This article talks about firms like Nokia, Sony Ericsson and other industry majors which agreed to back an EU-wide harmonization of phone charges.
I think this is a great idea and it will  stop wasting so much resources to make machins for so many different chargers.  Also now, if you just forgotten to take yours from home, everybody would have the same as yours. The article also ask a question if they will agree on one plug. Well, I heard that they already decided it to be mini usb plug.
There is also another asepect they didn't mentioned. Technology is improving so fast that we don't really know what kind of chargers we will need in few years so this idea would be good only if they  would 'be on time' with new technology - wich is quite obvious they will. So now we can see that maybe they finded a solution for this problem but for how long? Will the circle reel? There is no way to stop technology from moving further.

The huge amount of information we see everyday makes us listen but not think.

The huge amount of information we see everyday makes us listen but not think. In Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 Montag's wife Mildred does not stop to think about the effects of the parlour on her life. The protagonist is frustrated by his wife's lack of curiousity, "Montag reached inside the parlour wall and pulled the main switch [...]. The three women turned slowly and looked with unconcealed irritation and then dislike at Montag. [...] The three women fidgeted and looked nervously at the empty mud-coloured walls" (102)  One switch and three women are angry. Why are they upset? Is TV really so nessary to meet with friends? This idea is further explored by the examination of poetry,"'As for poetry , I hate it'. said Mrs Bowles. 'Have you ever read any?' "(106).  We know Mrs. Bowles didn't read any books because she is not alowed to. But does she want to check it? Someone told her that books are a waste of time and she doesn't want to have her own opinion. In Fahrenheit we see women sitting the whole day at home. They don't do the housework and they don't work. They don't want to have children and if they do they barely see them. In this world it is normal that women watch television the whole day and when they are not, they have radio plugs in their ears. Maybe it is a suggestion to our future where we won't even have one moment of silence to think because of the advanced technology.  Fahrenheit 451 shows us the thruth about what can happen with people in the XXIcentury. Internet absorbes us so much that we forgot that real life exist.
